One Thing You Can Always Count On….Change

Happy New Year to you!  This time of year is when most of us think about what we want to change and make resolutions that usually don’t stick. Ugh! I feel like it’s a setup and I try not to make them just because it’s a new year.

When I think about changes I have to laugh at the irony of them. We cannot avoid change it’s going to happen whether we like it or not. It’s something you can always count on.

On one hand we want to change to improve our life in some way and when we attempt to make the change we are all gun ho let’s do this! ……..

and then we fizzle out internally and/or externally with some type of pitfall or roadblock that conveniently comes up.

What’s that all about?!

We are up against our internal system that is operating from programs that aren’t going to just change like that! Their role is to keep things the same old same.

Then there’s the change we don’t want and most often don’t expect, life transitions such as relationship issues, death, illness, accidents, job loss …. these can also be the above pitfall or roadblock.

When these changes happen we are in upheaval, we are usually trying to get life back in order as quickly as possible and we ask questions such as:

Why did this happen? and How am I going to get through this?

When working with the laws of the Universe the Whys and the Hows are not for us to know …. they are questions that are not going to give us many answers anyhow and actually can keep us stuck in the situation longer.

A better question is: What am I supposed to learn here? or What am I not open to seeing? Changing our perception of a situation can change everything!

Then journal, meditate or go for a walk and reflect on these questions and wait for the answer to come to you.

Yes, wait.

I know you want to know right now but that’s not how the Universe works. In order to receive new insights and gain clarity, we must drop our judgments of the situation the best we can (or at least set them aside) and observe what shows up. So be a fly on the wall of your thoughts and feelings and see what your best next step is. When we can be open we can receive the answers.

So speaking of the best next step, that’s how you do it, one small step at a time, not knowing the end game because you’re still in the learning and growth process of this change.

Patience is very helpful here and trusting that you are exactly where you are meant to be and you will be shown the way if you are receptive to it.

Ask for Universal support and use your intuition to feel into what is the best next move and then take action.

Making changes that are permanent is more successful when you do them in small bite-sized steps. No fast and big changes or you most certainly will have a better chance at failing.

The last tip I will give you is that if you are looking to make positive changes in your life is before you begin ask yourself these questions:

  • Why do I want this change in my life?
  • How will I benefit from it in the long run?
  • If I have tried before (I’m pretty sure you have) what happened that caused me to be unsuccessful?
  • What are the specific pitfalls and roadblocks that came up or I can anticipate may come up?
  • Am I ready for this change?
  • Who will support me with this change and keep me accountable?

If you’re looking for a new way to positively change your life for the better, and you could use some more fun in your life take a look at the Soul Adventure Game.
